Crane track on concrete – continuously supported
A continuously supported crane track is characterized by rail mounted on a continuous steel sole plate with continuous grouting, either or not mounted in a concrete recess. This rail system is particularly well suited for high dynamic wheel load.
If the wheel load is 50% of the maximally admitted wheel load on the rail, the steel sole plate may be left out. Then the rail is anchored on concrete by means of anchor bolts through the rail foot. Characteristic are the holes in the rail foot and the continuous grouting.
This system is only applicable to crane rail with a wide foot (type A).
Crane track on concrete – discontinuously supported
A discontinuously supported crane track is characterized by rail – either or not mounted in a concrete recess – on steel support plates or rail chairs, with a centre-to-centre distance of ca. 500 – 1000 mm. Each support plate is grouted separately. Rail chairs can be integrated directly with the reinforcement in the concrete.
This system is suitable if continuous support is not necessary or not possible.
