Rail welding

Bemo Rail is specialized in making all common rail welds. We will advise you which type of weld is most suitable for your project. In addition to welding, we can, if required, also supply the materials and / or take care of the installation of the rail constructions.

To guarantee quality, Bemo Rail’s welding procedures are certified according to ISO 3834-2. Together with our certified employees, this ensures a high-quality solution.

Within Bemo rail we know 3 types of rail welds.

Flash butt welding

This welding method offers you as a customer major advantages in terms of quality, lead time and reliability.

Quality:
Highest possible quality weld, without the use of additive materials. This weld is certified according to EN14587-2. This welding method has excellent mechanical properties.

Lead time:
With the possibility of making 30 welds a day, the construction time of a project can be shortened by 50%. This welding method is therefore also very suitable for large projects, work during standstills, work at height or shortening construction time.

Reliability:
More than 30 million welds have been produced worldwide with a machine from the same manufacturer. A lot of research has been done into this welding method which shows that the risk of fracture is nil.

Rail profiles:
The machine can handle many rail profiles, such as low crane rail, high crane rail, vignola rail or groove rail. The profiles to be welded are between a weight of 49 kg / m1 (S49) and 150 kg / m1 (A150).

Puddle Arc welding

In puddle arc welding, the rail is placed between copper blocks and welded with an electrode using an electric welding process. The weld pool is held together by the copper blocks to create a fully welded joint.

Thermite welding

In thermite welding, the rail is placed between molds and the rail is preheated to very high temperatures. As soon as the rails have reached the correct temperature, a metal will flow into the molds which will connect the rail.
